Proposal for the new 

World Trade Center

 

This time we may like to build a sophisticated Trade Center structure. 

          A contribution to NY from Kauai - Hawaii.

Instead two towers, I like to recommend a quad tower structure – (T). Please find enclosed the bare bone sketch for the structure, maximizing Manhattan’s land usage. The 60 deg. tension tendons @ 90 and 45 deg. are not shown.

The structure should be designed in such a manner as to incorporate a City in the Country. This means Office space, Residential space, diverse Shopping space, Eateries and Recreation areas and other specialty amenities. We will also incorporate lodging facilities and a small Hospital and Offices for Doctors, Dentists, Ambulance, etc. Perhaps a place for collective prayer may also be included in the master plan. Included in this plan is the water reservoir for fire fighting purposes.

The today’s Engineering can construct the Manhattans jewel, 9000 psi Concrete can be produced and the new, clean Bainitic Steel can be included in the core structural design.

America, or US we have People with capacity to build structures for peace-full application therefore lets go, we can do this.

The two Arboretum’s and the two Beach like swimming pools will enlighten the visual impact for the Occupants – (SW) and (A). The greenery will also attract Birds and Bees, we could also have some certain animals in some of the Arboretum sections, in example some mountain Goats, Deer’s, or perhaps some Cows with Calves grazing in the Arboretums Meadows, surely an healing attraction in it self for the City Folks. Some artificial feeding for the animals will be needed, and this is for the purpose to save Arboretum grazing land.

The intent for this design is so, as to incorporate a healthy and recreational setting for the occupants as well as the general public. Greenery will restore the human spirit. A restored spirit can now go back to work and will be productive again in their daily tasks.

As you will see, I have also incorporated a horizontal People mover system on each floor in the full blocks sections – (F-B). The elevations of the full blocks may be adjusted. All the four towers will have elevators for the vertical transportations for Public and Freight. Each of the 80’x 80’ semi octagon blocks will also house, Elevators, Electrical shafts, Communication cabling, and all the other utilities. 

The internal octagon’s at each block is not shown on the sketch. The sizing of the access shaft openings is not defined as of now.

The, by design modular configuration of each              80’ x 80’ interconnecting segments will allow a speedy routine construction progress. An ease to prefabricate many components, therefore reducing the allover construction costs. (Not fully shown in the sketch)

Occupants may not need to leave the Building for any reason unless they want to do so. All amenities will be found in this City in the Country. In the basement, also the sub terrain  we will have direct access to the metro rail system. 

The full length platform elevators, to accommodate up to 10-car trains:

Here we will incorporate a numerous piston hydraulic platform elevator system. This elevator system will project to the full span of the concourse. The intent is so as to move the entire group of arrivals in one single move to the upper levels.

The loading will be in reverse and in the opposing side. With this configuration we can unload say on the right hand side, and then as soon as unloaded we can load the left hand side with the on the elevators pre-loaded passengers for the outbound trips.

This will improve the People handling capacitates to the maximum, since the elevators will always be pre-loaded or unloaded, and this at a perhaps different floor levels. The by design benefit will be a much shorter Train dwell time at the Station. This design will also allow to increase Train densities.   

Arrivals would debark at the street level for immediate dispersion, the departing group would be at the second floor level, please note that this group is in the gathering mode and may appreciate some additional environmental protection.

The departing side may include security checkpoints. This system may also be included in other prime locations, example, the Penn Station etc. The whole concept is, as to vastly improve the People moving systems by rail and light-rail and therefore relive automobile traffic on the overloaded highway routes.

Now day's we must design buildings and infra-structure with the integration concept in mind.

The Towers

This tower system will create a good natural light source for the general complex. We will also incorporate solar tubs to transmit natural light inwards to the buildings rooms. This shall be done in as far as technically and practically possible.

As you will see in the sketch, that I have incorporated a Swimming pool at the base of the Arboretum’s. The two, with sand beach swimming Pools will serve as a dual purpose. The first purpose is for recreation for the Occupants within the Building complex and the second purpose is as a reservoir for the Fire sprinkler systems. We will construct a special sand dam in order to prevent the entrance of sand in to the pipe system.

The Pool water will be Atlantic seawater. The seawater will be in exchange during a 48 Hr period. We will need a specially designed piston pump to do the job. This pump is not on the marked as of now. I know exactly what I like do construct. This pumping system will require very little energy. The saltwater will be heated by solar power. The heat exchanging water will be isolated and treated sweet water and applied via a Stainless Steel Pool heat exchanging system.  The heat exchanging system will be in the correct solar orientation and suitable 60 deg sloped tower sections. No chlorine will be needed in the pools. The shower systems will be regular City sweet water.

Fire protections

Should there be a fire, then the sprinklers will open and draw water by gravity from the pools. After the fire the pipes will be flushed from the salt water and recharged with neutralized sweet water. This will inhibit any corrosion to the pipe network.

The Arboretum and the sandy beach like pools will exhibit the country look from the inside tower sections, sort like a Bird’s eye view. In the Arboretum we will grow Pine tree’, Maple trees, Shrubs and a great variety of other species. The Arboretum section will be in a gentle but variable slope toward the center of the building, sort of a crater look. The Arboretum will exhibit small Brooks and Waterfalls as well as a catch basin for the pumped re-circulation to feed the brook system. Rainwater will drain via the over flow and during a dry spell we will replenish the catch basin with city water. The required irrigation water will also derive from the catch basin.

We will also incorporate a great many small hiking pads with resting benches and perhaps artificial outlooks. Since we have gentle slopes we can have a view of the “pool” lake below. Access to the elevators will be at all the four Tower corners. Internal security Guards with rescue capabilities for the Arboretum – Pool area will be established. Also we will have an open and closed clause for the Arboretum – Pool area.
